However many large works and contracts were won and undertaken during this time including those for P & O's luxury liners. ~ This design is "THE DOUBLE CARNATION" which was conceived while at Chelsea from Persian influences and is one of his best of the interlocking double flower heads. ~ the tile displays beautifully and I have enjoyed it for many years. With the two tone mauve flowers against swirling green foliage on a tinted white ground. ~ Condition is generally very good with a few minor edge scrapes, one shallow glaze chip top right corner ~ No blurring ~ No cracks ~ no significant surface wear ~ the winning bidder should be delighted and can expect prompt and perfect packing!
