Description
This item is on a temporary price reduction from $19,000.00! Please see my other antique stained glass windows on reduced Christmas Specials! The insciption on the bottom of this door reads: "To the Glory of God and in Loving Memory of Charles Sharrer by his wife Irene." This is a sacred family heirloom treasure that is looking for its lost relatives. What a beautiful reunion this would be if the descendants of this couple would find this piece! Please spread the word if you know any potential descendents of this Sharrer family who donated this window to a church in Pennsylvania. Thank you. THIS ITEM IS FOR PICK UP ONLY BY PROFESSIONAL MOVERS BUYER IS TO MAKE SHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS AT OWN EXPENSE AND RISK Ascending Christ Stained Glass Church Door DIMENSIONS AND ART DESCRIPTION: This is what I was told about this breathtaking piece: It is from a church in Pennsylvania which fell victim of vandalism. This piece was removed to rescue it from potential vandals. I can make no certain claim as to its actual age but it is believed to be early 1900's. Though looks like a window, this is a huge stained glass door with the hinges still on the side. It’s over 7 feet tall, 90” to be exact , and over four feet wide, 54 and 1/2” , including the wood frame. The wood frame itself is about 5and1/4 wide. It’s a stunning, ornate perfectly refinished, shining wood. See photo. Though the shine may be just the reflection of the Light of Christ(!). The picture is the defining instance of the true, original concept of stained glass, i.e. it is painted glass. Considering age, it is in excellent condition without any cracks. There is an area of color change in the red robe over the right knee as seen on the photos. This may be a sign of restauration of color. Two small spots of missing paint, only visible on close inspection. Though these spots are truly insignificant in the grand scheme of this stunning piece. This door weighs a ton or at least feels like it. You will need some serious and expert movers to secure safe transportation. A job not to be taken lightly. For this is truly both a sacred and historic item.
