I THINK FROM THE VICTORIAN HOMES PICTURED THAT THIS DISPLAY WOULD DATE TO LATE 1890's OR VERY EARLIEST YEARS OF THE 1900's. GUARANTEED TO BE ORIGINAL AND AUTHENTIC. JUST ONE OF THE MOST UNUSUAL PIECES OF ARCHITECTURAL ADVERTISING YOU ARE LIKELY TO FIND. IT ADVERTISES NEW ERA HIGH GRADE PREPARED PAINT. PAINT MADE BY THE ACME WHITE LEAD AND COLOR WORKS OF DETROIT MICHIGAN. EACH HOUSE GRAPHIC OR PLATE AS THEY ARE CALLED PROVIDES THE SPECIFIC COLORS NECESSARY TO PAINT THE VARIOUS STYLE HOMES SHOWN. THE LAST GRAPHIC SHOWS AS PLATE NUMBER 22. I CAN ONLY ROLL BACK SOME FIVE PLATES. THE ONLY CONDITION ISSUE IS THAT THE EDGES OF THE REINFORCED PAPER ROLL ARE DETERIORATED. SOME TIMES THE LEFT SIDE AND SOME TIMES THE RIGHT SIDE EDGE. SO OVER THE YEARS OF BEING ROLLED BACK AND FORTH AND THE DETERIORATED EDGES IT SIMPLY WILL NOT ROLL BACK TO WHAT I SUSPECT SHOULD BE TO PLATE NUMBER ONE. I CAN'T TELL YOU FOR SURE THAT THERE ARE SOME 22 PLATES, BUT THERE SEEMS TO BE ALOT OF PAPER ON THE UPPER ROLL. TO PROPERLY RESTORE THIS WONDERFUL ADVERTISING PIECE, THE PAPER ROLL SHOULD BE REMOVED AND PROFESSIONALLY BACKED. CERTAINELY ONE OF THE MOST UNUSUAL AND DESIREABLE ADVERTISING OR ARCHITECTURAL ARTIFACTS YOU ARE LIKELY TO FIND. APPROX 19 INCHES WIDE. 15 1/2 HIGH AND APPROX 6 1/4 DEEP. ORIGINAL WOOD SURFACE IS AGED, HAS LOSSES AND IS GENERALLY DISCOLORED FROM OVER THE YEARS. THE SIDE CRANKS ARE METAL WITH RUST AS SHOWN. Buyer pays actual shipping and insurance.
